Here is where we begin to embroider the coaster.
Step 1: I have used White yarn for the embroidery. You can use any color of choice. Also, I have worked the coaster anti-clockwise; you can use the same method clockwise, if you prefer it.
· Pull up the yarn from the wrong side of Coaster through the Center marked as 1 in the picture.
· Push through the space of the Picot marked as 2 in the picture.
· Ensure the yarn is loosely threaded so as to NOT scrunch up the coaster.
· From the WS; bring up the needle again at the center marked as 1 in the picture.
· Continue on; push through the center of space of the next Picot marked as 3 in the picture and REPEAT the process.

Once DONE; the finished set up will look like this – the embroidery yarn will be coming up, out of the center, marked as 1.

Step 2: To make the knots at the center of the Web to secure the vertical ‘webbing’.
Again, I have worked the coaster anti-clockwise; you can use the same method clockwise, if you prefer it.
· Pic A - Broken lines show the movement to make the knot around each of the vertical lines.
· Pic B - shows the movement of the needle to make the knot; under the vertical webbing and up through the loop.
· Pic C - once completed, push the needle through the center to take the yarn to the back of the coaster; all set to start the next step.

Step 3: To make the next layer of knots; we work using the ch1 space and the hdc stitch right after the chain space of Round 2. Again, I have worked the coaster anti-clockwise; you can use the same method clockwise, if you prefer it.
· Pull up the yarn from the bottom at any hdc stitch right after the ch1 spaces of ROUND 2; Marked in the following picture with
· Carry the yarn over the vertical webbing (Marked as A) and the next vertical one and push the needle through the ch 1 space marked as B.
· Bring up the yarn again at the hdc stitch right next to the B; marked as C.
· Push the yarn/needle under the horizontal webbing just made (as indicated with the pair of arrows)
· Make sure the yarn is loosely placed enough to ensure the coaster doesn’t scrunch up.
· Continue the process to make the first set of horizontal webbing around the coaster

Step 4: To make the next layer of knots
Continue the same process we work using the ch1 space and the hdc stitch right after the chain space of Round 4.
Again, I have worked the coaster anti-clockwise; you can use the same method clockwise, if you prefer it.

Step 5: To make the last layer of knots
Continue the same process we work using the ch1 space and the hdc stitch right after the chain space of Round 6.
