Making a blanket is a soothing and satisfying experience. Years ago, when I came across the Shell stitch shawl, i wondered how easy and quick it would be to use this for a blanket. There was born an idea to design a Corner to Corner Shells pattern.
I have many versions of this pattern (Generic Square and Rectangles) and this one is specifically to make a Cradle blanket of Size 20 inches by 32 inches. That given, i have added instructions to modify the size/repeats to match your choice of yarn and size requirements!

I love seamless crochet and try to avoid multiple tails and sewing, as much as possible. I'm sure a lot of crafters find it tedious. So this is my way of offering seamless / on-piece small #crochet #crochetpatterns that make #crocheting quick and easy!
The Cornered By Shells Cradle Blanket is a Once piece blanket with an incorporated edging, so it makes it totally seamless and a possible one jumbo skein pattern!
I have used the Red Heart Super Saver Jumbo skein and Ganga Pound of Happiness to make complete blankets using this and have had no hassles of joining or sewing in ends!

Gauge: N/a as the pattern can be adapted to any weight of yarn. In case you'd like to compare; The gauge for my yarn was - 15 rows of 12 sc make 4*4 inches swatch.
Stitches used: US crochet terms
ch - chain
yo - yarn over
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
ss – slip stitch

The Special Stitches and Notions used are Defined in the Special Stitch Instructions part of the Pattern.
